The Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages (IKOS) with 120 employees is comprised of 17 different teaching disciplines, with research covering cultural history and museology, history of religion, and theatre studies, as well as the languages, history, cultural and social studies of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. With its many academic disciplines the Department is part of a wide international network of scholars and research projects, in which cultural heritage and museological questions are often central. Scholars at The Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages (IKOS) have wide interests within museological research. Within EuNamus IKOS has a specific responsibility for the thematic study on European museum policies 1990-2010. The Department will also contribute to the historical survey on European national museums, to the study of museums'
uses of the past, the analysis of European museology and the development of new perspectives on museum practice.

Lill Eilertsen has a Candidata philologiae-degree from the University of Oslo (art history and folkloristic). Her research focus is on folk beliefs and aesthetics. In 2009 she benefited from a scholarship from NTNU on video game aesthetics. She is a member of the Society for Preservation of Norwegian Ancient Monuments and the Nordic Society of
Aesthetics. She develops reports for the EuNaMus-project and takes care of some of the practical arrangements (workshops, presentations, etc.).
