Introduction:The 13th International Conference on Thinking – Curious Minds Think and Learn by Exploring the Unknown, was held in Norrköping, Sweden, June 17-22, 2007. It was jointly organized by KK-stiftelsen – The Knowledge Foundation, Linköpings Universitet – the Host University, Norrköping – the Host City and Östergötland –  the Host County.
   This series of conferences started in Fiji in 1982, which means that the 13th conference also is the 25 year jubilee of the series. The thinking conferences focus on new ways of thinking in the major conference strands: Arts, Business, Culture, Education, Health, Politics, Media, and Sports. It emphasizes innovation and change that not only result in new concepts and practice, but also lead to new ways of thinking about old problems. The challenge for the future is to create societies that enhance social and environmental development as well as economic development. This will require giving predominance to innovative ideas, knowledge creation and the will to apply them. This conference is uniquely placed to bring together people from different disciplines, contexts and countries to both share their own breakthroughs as well as learn from other peoples stories.
   The conference was attended by 1300 participants from all over the world. The program included 8 plenary speakers, 27 featured speakers, 26 presenters of peer reviewed research papers and more than 110 other workshops and presentations (for a full list, see http://thinkingconference.org/).
   Proceedings Vol. 1 contain the peer reviewed papers from conference. The papers treat a variety of topics such as product development, pedagogy, creativity, social perspective on thinking, critical thinking, cognition, intelligence, ethics, learning, and thinking in general.
   Proceedings Vol. 2 contain other workshops and presentations on a voluntary basis.
   We are grateful to the authors that agreed to publish their contributions through Linköping University Electronic Press, which makes the contributions freely available.
