Abstract:In this work; we aim at facilitating the analysis of spatial simulations of particles at the microscopic level. This level poses significant challenges to interactive visual analysis tools. On the one hand; the data may contain up to 100.000 data points; and on the other hand; the data exhibit Brownian motion. As a first step to deal with these challenges; we apply well-accepted techniques to visualize the data and to allow analysts to interact with the data and their visual representation. Preliminary results from a spatial simulation of protein–lipid-raft interaction indicate that interactive visual solutions are indeed a useful addition to the modeling and simulation toolbox.
