Abstract:In manufacturing, Product-Service Systems (PSSs) that offer products in combination with services have attracted considerable attention. However, due to the characteristics of PSSs, its development is more complex than that of a product. This paper proposes a design method that allows PSS designers to address conflicts in the development phase. To do so, first, we adopt the approach of axiomatic design to detect and avoid the conflicts. Second, for the representation of PSS structure, the modeling methods from Service Engineering are applied. The effectiveness of the method is demonstrated by applying it to a practical casestudy.
