Abstract:The use of modeling paradigms for physical systems can in some instances be stretched to reach other domains. This paper presents one such example: it describes the design of a Modelica library that implements economic models to be used for the purpose of energy management. The design principles of this library such as the use of pseudo-physical connectors are outlined and examples for managing energy sources and loads are discussed.
