| Abstract: | This paper describes progress on the development of a platform independent media engine for mobile devices. The effort is part of the CAPNET (Context Aware Pervasive NETworks) project and focuses on providing a multimedia presentation and analysis service as part of a larger mobile services architecture. We present a high level overview of design, provide a general description of the functionality of various components such as MediaAlerts, MediaCapture, MediaStorage and MediaProcessing and describe several applications in progress, which utilize media engine components. |
